Among the biggest attractions are the RCZ Vision, a sleek electric sports coupe, and the E-T16, an aggressive machine inspired by Peugeot’s legendary rally heritage.

The E-T16 stands out with its extraordinary performance figures, producing 816 horsepower from three electric motors and accelerating from zero to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Its combination of racing-inspired styling, advanced battery technology and blistering acceleration positions it as one of the most exciting concepts revealed at the event.

Although Peugeot has not confirmed plans to put the E-T16 into production, the concept offers a glimpse into how the brand could combine its motorsport history with the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.

The E-T16 draws inspiration from the iconic Peugeot 205 T16, the rally car that secured back-to-back World Rally Championship titles in 1985 and 1986.

Rather than simply recreating the classic machine, Peugeot has reimagined its proportions and racing character through a modern electric design. The result is an aggressive concept that combines the visual appeal of a rally legend with the performance ambitions of a high-powered electric vehicle.

Underneath its striking bodywork, the E-T16 features three electric motors, with one positioned at the front and two at the rear. Together, they deliver an astonishing 816 horsepower.

Its acceleration figures are equally impressive. Peugeot says the concept can reach 62 mph in 2.5 seconds and accelerate to 186 mph in just 16 seconds.

These numbers place the E-T16 firmly in the conversation surrounding high-performance electric vehicles, demonstrating how electric powertrains can deliver rapid acceleration without the traditional engine roar associated with performance cars.

The E-T16 makes its intentions known through a design dominated by vents, air intakes, dramatic proportions and bold red accents.

Its front end adopts Peugeot’s “Feline Future” design language, which features distinctive claw-like lighting elements. The headlights are tinted yellow, creating a visual connection between the futuristic concept and its motorsport inspiration.

At the rear, a substantial diffuser and a pair of small wings attached to the tailgate reinforce its racing character. A thin red beltline wraps around the hatch, adding another distinctive detail to the exterior.

The cabin continues the aggressive theme, with dark surfaces, glowing red lighting and a driver-focused layout.

A central display sits within the unusual Hypersquare steering wheel, while a sweeping 21-inch dashboard screen provides a prominent digital interface. The bucket seats feature woven fabric and Pelinova recycled leather, combining a motorsport-inspired environment with the use of recycled materials.

One of the E-T16’s most interesting innovations lies beneath its dramatic exterior.

Peugeot highlights its new “Side Cooling” technology, which cools the battery through its side walls rather than through its base. The approach is designed to improve thermal management and help maintain performance during demanding driving conditions.

Battery temperature is a major challenge for high-performance electric vehicles. Repeated acceleration and sustained high speeds can generate significant heat, potentially forcing a vehicle to reduce power to protect its battery and electrical components.

Peugeot claims the E-T16 can complete three laps of the NĂĽrburgring Nordschleife without power restrictions caused by heat.

If the technology delivers as promised, it could address an important concern among performance enthusiasts who want electric cars capable of maintaining their output during repeated high-speed driving.

The concept also features 15-inch brake discs and a tall hydraulic handbrake, reinforcing its connection to the world of motorsport.

The E-T16 was not Peugeot’s only attention-grabbing concept at the Paris show. The RCZ Vision also generated interest with its low-slung, two-door silhouette and futuristic cabin.

Reviving the name of Peugeot’s sporty coupe from the 2010s, the RCZ Vision combines sleek bodywork with a distinctive glass roof featuring a double-bubble design.

Its electric powertrain produces 500 horsepower, while its estimated driving range stands at approximately 372 miles. Peugeot says its solid-state battery and 1,000-volt electrical architecture could enable charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 10 minutes.

The concept also introduces a radical digital interior and the Hypersquare steering wheel, which Peugeot plans to bring to production in the next-generation e-208.

Despite the excitement surrounding both concepts, Peugeot has not confirmed that the E-T16 will become a production electric rally car. Instead, the automaker says elements of its styling will influence the next-generation E-208.

That leaves the E-T16 as a demonstration of what Peugeot believes electric performance could achieve, rather than a confirmed model destined for showrooms.

Still, its 816 horsepower, remarkable acceleration and ambitious battery-cooling technology make it a compelling statement of intent. Alongside the RCZ Vision, the concept suggests Peugeot wants its electric future to deliver more than efficiency alone. It wants performance, distinctive design and an emotional connection to the brand’s motorsport legacy.
