My Life Is In Danger – Van Vicker Speaks
According to a report by The BBC Ghana today being Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has filed a lawsuit against fellow actor Lilwin, demanding GH¢10 million in damages over alleged defamatory comments that he claims have affected his peace of mind and business activities.
According to details contained in the court document, Van Vicker alleges that statements made by Lilwin have left him living in fear and feeling uncomfortable about travelling to Kumasi for business engagements.
He reportedly claims that the situation has forced him to cancel all his planned business trips to the Ashanti Regional capital because of alleged threats against him.
The legal action stems from comments Lilwin allegedly made before the filming of A Journey to Africa at Nzulezu in the Western Region. During the controversy, Lilwin reportedly threatened to prevent Van Vicker from featuring in Kumawood movies, a development that has now become the subject of the lawsuit.
Van Vicker is seeking several forms of relief from the court, including GH¢10 million in exemplary damages. He is also requesting additional compensation for libel, alongside payment of the legal costs associated with the case.
Beyond the financial demands, the actor is asking the court to order Lilwin to retract the alleged defamatory statements and issue a public apology. According to the demands outlined in the suit, the apology should be published on news portals for four consecutive weeks to ensure that it reaches the public.
Furthermore, Van Vicker wants the court to issue an injunction restraining Lilwin from making similar statements in the future.
The case brings renewed attention to the reported disagreement between the two actors and raises questions about the potential legal consequences of public comments within Ghana’s entertainment industry.
The court’s eventual decision will determine the outcome of the claims and the remedies, if any, that may be granted.
