Karachi Police arrest over 905 suspects during week

KARACHI  –  Karachi Police arrested more than 905 suspects, including 60 alleged robbers, during anti-crime operations across the city last week, a police spokesperson said on Monday. District police engaged suspected robbers in 47 encounters, during which 48 suspects were injured and arrested. Police recovered 59 illegal weapons of different types, two cars and 22 motorcycles from the arrested suspects. More than 905 suspects were arrested across the East, West and South zones during the week. In anti-narcotics operations and encounters, police recovered 93.813 kilogrammes of hashish and 4.705 kilogrammes of ice/crystal and heroin from different areas. Police also seized more than 140 illegal weapons along with ammunition, allegedly used in street robberies and other criminal activities. In separate operations, Karachi Police recovered 29 snatched or stolen motorcycles and seven vehicles from various areas. The operations were carried out on the directives of Additional Inspector General of Police – Karachi Azad Khan.
