Family of five found dead in Karachi’s Bin Qasim house

According to police, the deceased were identified as Shahzaib, his wife Saba, his sister Shumaila and their two young daughters.

Police said Shahzaib had sold his house in Gulshan-e-Hadeed some time ago and had been living in a rented house in a private housing society.

Initial findings suggest that Shahzaib may have died by suicide. Police said a suicide note was recovered from the house, while the doors were found locked and had to be opened by officers.

The bodies of the two young girls and Shahzaib’s sister were found on a bed. Police suspect that the children may have been poisoned; however, the exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

A crime scene unit has been called in to collect evidence and assist with the forensic investigation.

The bodies of Shahzaib and his wife were found on a sofa, with apparent gunshot wounds to their heads, according to police. A pistol was reportedly recovered from Saba’s lap.

Meanwhile, Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho has sought a detailed report on the incident from the Deputy Inspector General of Police, East Zone.

The provincial police chief directed officials to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation to determine the actual causes of the deaths.

He also ordered the collection of evidence from the scene, completion of all legal and forensic procedures, and immediate measures to establish whether any criminal elements were involved.

The IG further directed the concerned officials to keep him regularly informed of progress in the investigation.
