Gospel singer Florence Obinim has rebranded her online ministry as Lioness Ministries, replacing the name she has been publicly known by for more than 20 years.

The change comes amid reports of marital difficulties involving her husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, who founded International God’s Way Church.

According to reports that emerged in early September, Florence’s family returned the marriage drinks in a traditional gesture commonly associated with the end of a marriage in Ghana.

The reports followed the circulation of a video in which Bishop Obinim allegedly instructed Florence to stop using his surname. He reportedly added that she should no longer be known as Obinim and should not attend his funeral.

Florence had previously commented on the matter in June, stating that she would relinquish the surname if her husband asked her to do so.

She maintained that her spiritual calling and God’s grace were more important than her name and that her ministry would remain active despite any changes.

The new branding was reportedly first noticed on her TikTok account, which now displays the name Lioness Ministries. Her promotional materials for church activities have also adopted the new identity.

Her biography still carries the name Dr Florence Obinim alongside her descriptions as a musician and preacher, but the primary name on her social media platforms has changed.

The development has generated different reactions online. While some supporters have offered prayers and encouragement, others believe the rebranding signals a new chapter in her life.

The move marks a notable change for the gospel musician, whose public identity has been linked to the Obinim surname for more than two decades.
