Davido Breaks Silence After Uncle Adeleke Gets Role In Tinubu’s Re-Election Campaign

Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted following the appointment of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, to coordinate President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in the state.

The development has attracted attention because Governor Adeleke is a member of the Accord Party, while President Tinubu belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Following news of the appointment, Davido took to his Instagram Story, where he shared a video of the Osun State governor dancing and singing.

The governor’s appointment was reportedly part of a revised APC Presidential Campaign Council list that includes several political figures from different parties. Among them are Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The campaign council is expected to be inaugurated on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Meanwhile, Davido’s previous remarks about the ruling party have also drawn attention to the development.

During the build-up to the August 2026 Osun governorship election, the singer openly declared his opposition to supporting the APC.

“I can never support APC in my life!!!” Davido wrote at the time.

The singer also stated that he had no preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, reiterating that he would not support the ruling party.

Governor Adeleke’s new role in Tinubu’s re-election campaign has therefore attracted interest, particularly given Davido’s previously expressed political position.
