Black Queens name strong lineup for Mauritius clash

Ghana coach Kim Lars Björkegren has named a strong starting lineup for this afternoon’s second-leg encounter against Mauritius in the second round of qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi.

Goalkeeper Cynthia Fiindib Konlan starts between the posts, with captain Portia Boakye leading the side.

Susan Ama Duah and Josephine Bonsu will operate as full-backs, while Jennifer Cudjoe and Sharon Sampson are included in the starting lineup.

The Black Queens will look to Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Grace Asantewaa and Evelyn Badu to provide creativity and attacking impetus in midfield.

Princella Adubea leads the attack, with Ajegipina Zakaria providing support up front as Ghana seek to complete the job on home soil.

Ghana go into the encounter with a commanding 3-0 advantage from the first leg played in Mauritius last Thursday, putting them in a strong position to progress to the next round.

The Black Queens will be keen to maintain their advantage and secure qualification as they continue their campaign for a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Essipong Stadium.
