Two motorcyclists injured in separate crashes near Lake Nacimiento

– Two motorcyclists were injured in separate solo crashes about an hour apart Sunday evening northwest of Paso Robles, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch records.

The first crash was reported at 5:12 p.m. at Heritage Road and Heritage Loop Road in Heritage Ranch. A male rider was down in the roadway, unconscious and bleeding, according to the highway patrol’s incident log. Fire crews and medics were dispatched, and the highway patrol’s helicopter was notified. The highway patrol upgraded the incident to a major-injury collision at 6:42 p.m.

The second crash was reported at 6:14 p.m. on Nacimiento Lake Drive just north of Chimney Rock Road. An officer at the scene reported that the rider, a 25-year-old man, had scrapes on his forearm and a possible broken right leg, according to the log. Firefighters requested the highway patrol’s helicopter, and the officer requested an additional unit for traffic control. A tow truck was called for the motorcycle.

The highway patrol has not released the names or conditions of the riders or the causes of either crash.
