Reno Omokri Replies Charly Boy After His Comment On A Post Asking Tinubu To Resign Because Of Hardship

Reno Omokri, Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Mexico, has responded to entertainer and social activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, following his remarks about a video showing a traditional ruler reportedly urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign over the hardship facing Nigerians.

Omokri clarified that the individual featured in the video was not former militant leader Asari Dokubo, as had been suggested. He identified the traditional ruler as Royal Highness Moses Theophilus Kenibara VII, the Amadabo of Moko-Ama in Sangana, Akassa Kingdom, Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

In a message directed at Charly Boy, Omokri appreciated the entertainer for bringing attention to the issue but urged him to verify the identity of the man in the footage and correct the impression created by the reported misidentification.

Omokri began his message by thanking Charly Boy for highlighting the matter, before explaining that the person in the video was not Asari Dokubo.

He subsequently identified the individual as Moses Theophilus Kenibara VII, providing details of his traditional title and the community he represents in Bayelsa State.

The ambassador-designate also appealed to Charly Boy to use his public influence to clarify the matter after confirming the information. He stressed the importance of correcting what he described as a misleading impression conveyed to the entertainer’s followers and the wider Nigerian public.

Omokri concluded his message by expressing gratitude to Charly Boy and wishing him well.

The exchange has drawn attention to the identity of the traditional ruler featured in the video, particularly as Nigerians continue to debate the country’s economic difficulties and the Tinubu administration’s response to public concerns.

However, Omokri’s statement focused primarily on correcting the identity attributed to the traditional ruler rather than addressing the substance of the reported demand for President Tinubu’s resignation.
