Prominent Leader Lands Into Hot Soup After Raila’s Bodyguard Reveals What He Did To The Late Raila

Maurice Ogetta, the longtime bodyguard of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has revealed that he has not forgiven Makau Mutua over alleged incidents involving the recording of events during protests.

Ogetta made the remarks while reflecting on his years working closely with Raila, during which he was responsible for helping protect the veteran opposition leader during political campaigns, public appearances and demonstrations.

According to Ogetta, his strained relationship with Mutua stems from allegations that the lawyer and political commentator exposed communication channels used by Raila’s team during protests.

Ogetta claimed that Mutua was inside Raila’s vehicle, recording events live and capturing coordination activities that he believes should have remained confidential for security reasons.

“I don’t think I have forgiven Makau Mutua for exposing our communication channels during protests,” Ogetta said.

His remarks have reignited discussion about the challenges faced by security personnel who worked closely with Raila during politically charged moments in the country’s history.

The allegations have also raised questions about the potential risks of recording sensitive security arrangements while documenting political events.

However, the claims remain Ogetta’s account, and Mutua’s response to the specific allegations was not included in the reported remarks.

The development comes as Kenyans continue to reflect on Raila’s political legacy following his death in October 2025.

Ogetta’s revelations offer a glimpse into the tensions that may have emerged behind the scenes during Raila’s long and eventful political career.
