One dead, 11 injured in 13 traffic accidents across Syria

Damascus, Oct. 12 (SANA) One person was killed and 11 others injured in 13 traffic accidents across Syria over the past 24 hours, the Syrian Civil Defense said on Monday.

In a statement posted on its Telegram channel, the Civil Defense said its teams provided first aid to the injured before transferring them to hospitals for treatment. They also cleared the accident sites and secured the affected areas.

Civil Defense teams also responded to 50 fires across the country involving homes, commercial shops, grass, trees, garbage and electrical wires. The teams extinguished the fires and cooled the affected sites. No civilian injuries were reported, while damage was limited to property.

The Civil Defense urged the public to avoid lighting fires in forests and agricultural fields, discarding cigarette butts or glass containers along roadsides, particularly near crops and wooded areas, and burning dry grass around homes or along roads. It also called on residents to remove dry vegetation safely.

Twenty people were injured two days earlier in traffic accidents and fires to which Civil Defense teams responded across Syria.
