Most Ghanaian women are wanna-bes They are looking for rich men rather than sensible men–Slim Buster
According to a report by Ghanaweb on Monday, Oct 12, 2026, Veteran Ghanaian musician and dancer Slim Buster has weighed in on the motives of many women in the country. He argues that social media has exposed a drive to look wealthy and fashionable in order to attract rich men.
Speaking on Adom TV, he said most Ghanaian women are “wanna-bes.” According to him, the trait was far less visible in the past because people’s lifestyles were not constantly on display online. Social media, he said, has now made it plain.
His remarks come amid public discussion of reports of an alleged physical assault involving fashion icon Nana Akua Addo and her estranged husband, Harold Duodu Norman.
Slim Buster claimed that many women have no interest in men at a similar financial level, even those who are employed and able to provide for them. Instead, he said, they chase extremely wealthy men and are prepared to put up with physical abuse so long as the relationship keeps up appearances.
In his view, the wish to maintain an enviable image online can keep some women in abusive relationships, because leaving would mean giving up a lifestyle others admire. He described such women as choosing rich men over sensible ones, eager to be counted among the “cool ones.”
The musician also presented himself as an expert at reading photographs. He claimed he can judge a woman’s character from her face and tell a sensible woman from one who is not.
The comments reflect Slim Buster’s personal opinion. In the interview as reported by GhanaWeb, no data or examples were cited to support the generalisation. The clip was shared on Adom TV’s TikTok page and has added to the online conversation around the Nana Akua Addo reports.
