Massive Reactions As Asiedu Nketia Meets Jean Mensa at Jubilee House for the First Time

According to a report by GTV Ghana on Monday, October 12, 2026, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, met Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah at Jubilee House. The meeting took place during the swearing-in of the new Deputy Commissioners of the Electoral Commission.

The encounter has since sparked massive reactions on social media. Many Ghanaians shared their views in the comments section of the video shortly after it was posted.

Several users focused on the body language of the two public figures. One user said the NDC man was not even looking at Madam Mensa during the greeting. The comment drew many likes from other users.

Another user said he could not tell what was going through the mind of “Chairman” at that moment. He added laughing emojis to his comment, and others agreed with him.

Some social media users also paid close attention to how Madam Mensa greeted him. One user said she moved slightly away from the crowd and gave what looked like a semi-hug. The user added that she did it so carefully that only a keen observer would notice. Another user compared her approach to being careful around a lion, since a lion has no friends.

A few commenters turned the moment into a joke. One person said the scene was typical of an NDC ceremony. Others simply posted laughing and fire emojis to show their amusement.

Not everyone was clear about what had happened. Some users asked who had actually noticed the gesture, while others tried to read meaning into the colour of the outfit worn by the Electoral Commission Chairperson.

The two have often been in the public eye over electoral matters in the country. This is why their first meeting at Jubilee House drew so much attention online.

Neither the Electoral Commission nor Mr Asiedu Nketiah has commented on the reactions so far.
