Marc Cucurella Fires Furious Warning At Referee After Vinicius Jr Red Card

Share on Twitter Real Madrid’s narrow win over Villarreal was overshadowed by a controversial red card for Vinicius Jr, which sparked an angry reaction from Marc Cucurella.

The Brazilian forward was dismissed in the 72nd minute after a VAR review determined that he had pulled Nathan Saliba’s hair.

The decision triggered protests, with Cucurella confronting assistant referee Francisco Garcia on the touchline to express his frustration.

DAZN cameras captured the Spaniard wagging his finger at the official while delivering a stern warning about how similar incidents should be handled.

“I hope… I hope that if anyone touches a single hair of mine, you send them off. Go check the VAR,” Cucurella was heard saying.

The heated exchange threatened to escalate before Bernardo Silva and Real Madrid delegate Chendo intervened to calm Cucurella down.

The dismissal added to an increasingly tense atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabeu, where another Madrid goal was ruled out, cutting short Jose Mourinho’s celebrations.

Despite being reduced to ten men, Real Madrid held on to secure all three points, with Yan Diomande’s clinical strike proving decisive.

Villarreal attempted to capitalise on their numerical advantage during the closing stages, pushing forward in search of an equaliser, reports GOAL.

However, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois produced crucial saves to deny Carlos Romero and Gerard Moreno, helping Madrid preserve their narrow lead.

The victory keeps Madrid’s domestic campaign moving forward, although Vinicius’ dismissal could leave Mourinho with an important selection decision ahead.

Madrid are scheduled to travel to face Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday, October 14, before hosting Sevilla in La Liga.

With a demanding fixture schedule ahead, Mourinho’s side will need to manage the potential absence of their influential Brazilian forward while maintaining their momentum.
