Man killed in railroad crash on Albon Road

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Ohio (WTVG) – A male is dead after a train and pickup truck collided Monday morning on Albon Road near Airport Highway.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and said the victim was the driver of the pickup truck.

The pickup drove through the downed gates before being hit by the train. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

“We’ll have the coroner’s office, we’ll go through our complete investigation, download the vehicle, seeing speed and stuff like that,” said Sgt. Jason Metzger with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. “We’ll do toxicology, see if there’s any factors there.”
