“Mahama Is A Very Humble Leader” – Davido

According to a report by GHOne TV on Monday, October 12, 2026, Nigerian music star Davido has described Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, as “a very humble leader.”

The remark, which has quickly drawn attention on social media, comes from one of Africa’s most influential entertainers. Davido, known globally for his Afrobeats hits and large following across the continent and beyond, has often spoken warmly of his connections in Ghana, a country with deep cultural and musical ties to Nigeria.

His comment speaks to a quality many supporters say defines President Mahama’s style of leadership: approachability and a down-to-earth demeanour. Since returning to office, the Ghanaian leader has been widely seen as engaging openly with people from different walks of life, including youth, creatives and business figures.

Observers note that endorsements from prominent entertainers can carry significant weight, particularly among younger audiences who look to artistes as cultural voices. Davido’s words may also reflect the growing links between Africa’s creative industries and political leadership, as governments increasingly recognise the economic and diplomatic value of music, film and fashion.

Reactions to the report have been mixed but largely positive, with many Ghanaians welcoming the kind words from a Nigerian star, while others used the moment to call for continued focus on issues affecting ordinary citizens.

The statement also reinforces the friendly relations between Ghana and Nigeria, two West African neighbours whose people share strong cultural, commercial and historical bonds.

As the story continues to trend, many are watching to see whether the exchange will lead to further collaboration between Ghana’s leadership and the continent’s creative community.
