The Arizona Cardinals officially pulled the plug on their time with former No. 4 overall pick Marvin Harrison Jr as they have traded the star pass catcher.

On Sunday, the Cardinals moved Harrison to the Houston Texans along with a seventh-round pick in exchange for a second-round pick and a sixth-round pick.

Harrison’s time in Arizona could be considered a disaster, considering how little production the Cardinals got out of such a heralded prospect out of college.

But a report from the Arizona Republic revealed what may have truly been the nail in the coffin.

According to the outlet, Harrison requested the team purchase a Seeker catching machine, a device made by Monarc Sport that replicates the speed and trajectory of any NFL quarterback’s throws on-demand.

Harrison used a device like this during his college football days at Ohio State.

However, the team bristled at the $50,000 price tag and declined the request – despite former teammates noting how he improved with it.

‘He just made it a part of his routine every single day, making sure that every single minute that he had free to get better, he was making the most of it,’ Kyle McCord, his quarterback while at Ohio State, told the outlet.

So, Harrison used his own money to purchase the device for himself so he could work on his game.

A source told the Republic: ‘Kid didn’t ask for much, but he really wanted that.’

Harrison hasn’t transitioned to the NFL as well as he was projected, with his struggles on contested catches and lack of yards after catch some clear lowlights.

He expressed his anger in having a reduced role with the Cardinals offense after being out-played by Michael Wilson, who signed a $75 million extension this offseason.

Last season, Harrison tallied 608 yards and four touchdowns – down from 880 yards and eight touchdowns from his rookie campaign.

Now, he’ll look to get a fresh start in Houston as he teams up with his former Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud. Harrison could make his debut this weekend as the Texans travel to London to play the Jacksonville Jaguars.
