India’s draft steel policy targets 604 million tonnes of capacity by 2047

NEW DELHI — India’s draft steel policy targets crude-steel production capacity of 604 million tonnes by 2047, setting out a long-term expansion plan that is now subject to public consultation.The Ministry of Steel’s consultation page also projects finished-steel consumption of 505 million tonnes and per-person consumption of 302 kilograms by that year.
