I’m No Longer Beefing With Shatta Wale, I Want to Tap Into His Blessings — Kwaw Kese

Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kese has announced that he is putting an end to any perceived rivalry between himself and dancehall star Shatta Wale, explaining that he now wants to maintain a positive relationship with his fellow musician rather than engage in musical disputes.

The rapper, popularly known for his hit song Awoyo Sofo, described Shatta Wale as his “school son” and acknowledged that the dancehall artiste had achieved greater financial success than him, adding that he would rather benefit from his colleague’s blessings than continue any disagreement.

“From today going, I am not beefing with Shatta Wale, he is my school son, now he has made more money than me, so I want to tap into his blessings,” Kwaw Kese said.

His comments suggest a change in his approach to the relationship, as he expressed a desire to move beyond the tensions and perceptions of rivalry that have surrounded the two musicians.

Kwaw Kese also addressed the assumption that his friendship with Stonebwoy automatically places him in opposition to Shatta Wale or rapper Sarkodie, insisting that his personal relationships with different artistes should not be interpreted as hostility towards others.

He maintained that he has no ongoing feud with any musician and would prefer to maintain cordial relationships across the Ghanaian music industry.

“I am not beefing with Shatta Wale, I am not beefing with Sarkodie, and I am not beefing with anybody, Stonebwoy is my man, but that doesn’t mean I am beefing with anybody,” he stated.

The rapper also appealed directly to Shatta Wale’s fan base, known as Shatta Movement, asking its members to support his music and attend his shows instead of viewing him as an opponent because of the perceived tension between the two artistes.

He encouraged the fans to stream his songs whenever he releases new material and turn up for his performances whenever he organises an event.

“Shatta Movement, I am not beefing with anybody, so if I drop my song, you people for stream am, if I dey do my show, you for show up,” he said.

Kwaw Kese further demonstrated his willingness to move beyond any perceived differences by expressing interest in performing at Shatta Wale’s upcoming ShattaFest, scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The rapper indicated that he would gladly appear at the event if Shatta Wale invited him and agreed to include him among the performers.

“If Shatta Wale agrees, I go come perform for ShattaFest, ebi SM wey dey cause the problem, Shatta Wale doesn’t have a problem with me,” he added.

His remarks suggest that he believes the tension may be driven more by disagreements among sections of their fan bases than by a personal dispute between the two musicians.

Kwaw Kese’s latest position is centred on ending the perception of hostility, encouraging fans to support his work and opening the door to a possible joint appearance with Shatta Wale at ShattaFest, should an invitation be extended.
