“I Can Make GH¢900 on Funeral Day it Brings us more money”– Pragya Rider Opens Up About His Earnings
According to a Post by Ghbase on Facebook Official account on Monday, October 12, 2026, a Ghanaian tricycle operator known as Prince has shared details about the amount of money drivers in the Pragya business can make, explaining that their daily income often depends on the number of passengers they carry and whether there is a funeral in their community.
Speaking in an interview with GHPage, Prince disclosed that some operators can earn between GH¢600 and GH¢900 on funeral days. However, he explained that not every driver makes the same amount because their financial arrangements with vehicle owners differ.
According to him, some drivers are expected to pay their owners GH¢150 after working for the day, while his own agreement requires him to remit GH¢120.
Prince explained that the money drivers take home depends on how much they generate and the amount they must pay to the people who own their tricycles.
He further revealed that although the business can provide good income, there are periods when work becomes slow, making it difficult for operators to earn as much as they would like.
Prince noted that funerals are among the occasions that bring more customers to Pragya riders. During such events, people often need transportation to move between different locations, creating more opportunities for drivers to make money.
He explained that business activity increases significantly during these periods, allowing some operators to earn considerably more than they would on ordinary days.
Prince added that while he can sometimes make approximately GH¢600 or GH¢700 on a funeral day, other drivers perform even better financially.
He stated that some of his colleagues can take in GH¢800, while others reportedly earn as much as GH¢900.
His revelation has offered insight into the earning opportunities available in Ghana’s tricycle transport business, while highlighting how customer demand and vehicle ownership arrangements can influence drivers’ daily income.
