Hailey Bieber’s Vintage Versace Chainmail Top Hangs by the Thinnest Straps

Bieber wore a green metal chainmail evening top from Versace’s Spring/Summer 2003 collection. The chainmail top was covered entirely in tiny metallic links, creating a liquid-like surface that shimmered as she moved in front of the camera.

The vintage piece featured a simple square neckline and a fitted silhouette, but its barely-there straps made it especially striking. Two incredibly slim spaghetti straps were all that appeared to hold the weight of the metallic top over her shoulders.

A fashion fan account later identified the top as the brand’s green Oroton metal chainmail evening top from Spring/Summer 2003. Thus making the piece more than two decades old.

While only the upper portion of Bieber’s outfit was visible in the photos, the vintage top needed nothing else to grab attention. Between its metallic green finish, careful construction, and impossibly thin straps, Bieber turned a piece from the archives into a head-turning look that still feels relevant today.
