Federal govt appoints new KP chief secretary
ISLAMABAD – The federal government on Sunday appointed Dr Muhammad Fakhare Alam Irfan as the new chief secretary of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
His appointment as KP chief secretary takes immediate effect and will remain in place until further orders, the notification stated. Earlier, the federal government removed 15 key administrative officers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah. The reshuffle comes as the federal cabinet on Sunday recommended the imposition of emergency rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) amid a deteriorating security situation and allegations that the provincial government was deliberately disengaging from the fight against terrorism.
