EPL Top Scorers After Erling Haaland Goal Last Night
According to a report by BBC Sports on Monday October 12, 2026, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has strengthened his position at the top of the English Premier League goalscoring chart after finding the net during his team’s impressive 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.
The Norwegian international continued his excellent start to the 2026/2027 campaign, increasing his league tally to six goals and maintaining his advantage over Chelsea forward João Pedro in the race for the prestigious Premier League Golden Boot.
Manchester City’s encounter with Liverpool initially proved difficult, with both teams competing intensely for control of the match. However, the contest changed significantly after Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch received his second yellow card in the 62nd minute.
Haaland capitalised on City’s numerical advantage three minutes later, producing a powerful left-footed finish to break the deadlock.
Jeremy Doku subsequently doubled City’s advantage before Rayan Cherki completed the scoring, securing an important away victory for Enzo Maresca’s side.
The result also extended Manchester City’s perfect beginning to the league campaign, with six victories from their opening six matches.
Following Sunday’s matches, Haaland occupies first position in the Premier League goalscoring standings with six goals.
Chelsea attacker João Pedro follows closely in second position with five goals. The Brazilian increased his tally after scoring twice during Chelsea’s convincing 5-1 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.
Liverpool striker Alexander Isak occupies third position with four goals, although he failed to add to his tally during Sunday’s defeat against Manchester City.
Chelsea’s Morgan Rogers also has four goals, placing him among the leading contenders for the Golden Boot.
Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki completes the group of players with four goals after scoring against Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has registered three league goals this season, putting him among several players attempting to close the gap on the leading scorers.
His United teammate Bryan Mbeumo has also scored three times, including a goal during Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey, Leeds United forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Brighton midfielder Pascal Groß are among the other players with three goals.
Brentford’s Kevin Schade, Bournemouth’s Marcus Tavernier, Everton’s Thierno Barry and Hull City’s Mohamed Belloumi have equally recorded three goals.
The latest goalscoring standings therefore leave Haaland with a narrow advantage over João Pedro, while Isak, Rogers and Cherki remain within striking distance.
Although the campaign is still in its early stages, the battle for the Golden Boot is already developing into an interesting contest involving some of the league’s most dangerous attacking players.
Haaland will be determined to maintain his impressive scoring form as Manchester City continue their pursuit of another Premier League title.
With several fixtures remaining before the season reaches its halfway stage, the goalscoring rankings could experience further changes as the leading contenders compete for individual recognition.
