EPL Table After Liverpool Lost 3-0

According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 11, 2026, Manchester City secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Liverpool after scoring three goals in the second half of their encounter.

Both teams struggled to find the breakthrough in the first half despite creating several opportunities. Gianluigi Donnarumma made important saves to keep Liverpool from scoring, while both defences remained organised.

Liverpool threatened through Victor Munoz and Lewis Koumas, while Manchester City created chances through Antoine Semenyo and Rayan Cherki. However, neither side managed to score before the interval.

The game took a dramatic turn in the 62nd minute when Ryan Gravenberch received his second yellow card and was sent off, leaving Liverpool with ten men. Manchester City took advantage of their numerical superiority and increased the pressure on the home side.

Erling Haaland broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, reacting quickly to a rebound inside the penalty area before firing the ball into the bottom-left corner to give City the lead.

Three minutes later, Jeremy Doku doubled Manchester City’s advantage with an impressive finish. After controlling a precise pass, the winger struck from the edge of the penalty area and sent the ball into the top-right corner.

Liverpool attempted to reduce the deficit through Florian Wirtz, Lewis Koumas and Alexis Mac Allister, but Donnarumma remained alert and produced crucial saves to preserve City’s advantage.

Manchester City continued to dominate possession and search for another goal, eventually extending their lead in the 78th minute. Rayan Cherki finished confidently after receiving a through ball from Josko Gvardiol to make it 3-0.

Liverpool introduced several substitutes in an attempt to stage a comeback, but City’s defence remained solid. Donnarumma also denied Mac Allister from a free kick during the closing stages.

Despite Liverpool’s late pressure and three minutes of added time, the home side failed to find the net. Manchester City held on to secure a 3-0 victory, with Haaland, Doku and Cherki scoring after the break to complete an impressive second-half performance.
