BAT: Why Don’t You Give Crude Oil To Dangote And It’ll Refine And Give Directly To Nigerians- Kenneth Okonkwo
According to a post published on the official X account of Channels TV on Monday, October 12, 2026, Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticised the Federal Government’s fuel discount policy, urging the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to supply crude oil directly to Dangote Refinery for processing and distribution to Nigerians.
Okonkwo’s comments followed the federal government’s announcement of a 30-day fuel discount policy on products sold by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
Reacting to the initiative, the ADC chieftain questioned the approach adopted by the government, arguing that supplying crude oil directly to Dangote Refinery would provide an alternative to the current arrangement.
He maintained that the transportation of crude oil was contributing to the high cost of petrol, suggesting that direct supply to the refinery could help address the issue.
Speaking on the matter, Okonkwo called on the Tinubu administration to allow Dangote Refinery to process crude oil and supply the finished product directly to Nigerians.
According to Channels TV, he said, “Why do you not just give the crude directly to Dangote and Dangote will refine it and give it directly to Nigerians”.
