Bank of Ghana Releases Official Daily Exchange Rates for Monday, October 12, 2026

The Bank of Ghana has released its daily exchange rates for Monday, October 12, 2026, providing updated figures for the US dollar, British pound sterling and euro against the Ghana cedi.

According to the published rates, the figures represent the average interbank exchange rates recorded at the close of business on Friday, October 9, 2026.

The US dollar is buying at GH₵11.7841 and selling at GH₵11.7959. The difference between the buying and selling rates is relatively small.

These figures provide a reference for individuals and businesses that need to exchange US dollars for Ghana cedis.

The British pound sterling is buying at GH₵15.5892 and selling at GH₵15.6048. Among the three major currencies listed, the pound has the highest value against the Ghana cedi.

The rates are important for travellers, students and businesses that make payments in British pounds.

The euro is buying at GH₵13.1922 and selling at GH₵13.2031. The figures show that the euro is trading below the British pound but above the US dollar in terms of its value against the cedi.

The buying rate is the price at which banks purchase foreign currency from customers, while the selling rate is the price at which they sell foreign currency to customers.

The selling rate is usually higher than the buying rate. The difference between the two is known as the exchange rate spread.

The published rates serve as a guide for importers, exporters, travellers, students and investors who depend on foreign currencies for their transactions.

However, commercial banks and forex bureaus may offer rates that differ from the official interbank figures.

The public can obtain further information through the Bank of Ghana’s official website at www.bog.gov.gh.

Customers are advised to confirm the applicable exchange rate with their banks or forex bureaus before completing any foreign currency transaction.
