Ballon d’Or 2026: Okocha names favourite player and clubs to win UCL this season

According to a report by Daily Post on Monday October 12, 2026, Nigeria football icon, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha has revealed that Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are the clubs he wants to win the UEFA Champions League title this season.

The Super Eagles icon also named Real Madrid superstar, Kylian Mbappe as his choice for the 2026 Ballon d’Or award.

He made this known during an interview with a French media outlet, Le Journal du Dimanche ahead of the forthcoming Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City on Wednesday.

Okocha admitted that Ballon d’Or is a fiercely contested award and this year, Lamine Yamal, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe are vying for the award.

However, he argued that Mbappe deserves the award because of his exceptional goalscoring record at the World Cup, Champions League and in the Spanish League.

The Super Eagle icon noted that Manchester City, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are the leading contenders for the Champions League Cup.
