3.85L complaints, appeals pending with 28 information commissions

NEW DELHI: Over 3.85 lakh appeals and complaints were pending across 28 information commissions as of June 30 this year. Moreover, 14 commissions have an estimated waiting time of 1 year or more to dispose of a matter. These findings are part of the ‘Report Card on the Performance of Information Commissions in India 2025-26’ released by voluntary organisation Satark Nagrik Sangathan.
