2 hurt in Mason City rollover crash

(ABC 6 News) – Two people were hurt Sunday night after a rollover crash in Mason City, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office said early Monday morning.

Around 9:30 p.m., a sheriff’s deputy responded to the area of 280th Street and Thrush Avenue for a report of a single-vehicle crash.

Authorities said an 18-year-old Mason City woman was driving her 2013 Chevrolet Malibu south on Thrush Avenue when she swerved to avoid a deer in the road. The driver lost control of the car and rolled into a ditch.

The passenger, a 23-year-old Mason City man, and the driver were taken by private vehicle to MercyOne for treatment before authorities arrived.

The sheriff’s office did not release information on the extent of the injuries.
