Zambia Super League: Nkana FC with emphatic comeback to demolish Makeni All Stars
Nkana FC booked a crucial three points with a dramatic 4-1 demolition of Makeni All Stars in an MTN Super League Week two match at Nkana Stadium.
A brilliant brace from Lazarous Kambole, plus goals from Michael Chapota and Nduna Zulu, sank the visitors after an incredibly tense first half featuring a lengthy pitch-side standoff and an early deficit. The visitors took a surprise lead after just eight minutes when an unmarked Emmanuel Silomba found the back of the net.
Frustration grew for Nkana in the 17th minute when Lazarous Kambole’s quick equalizer via a Charles Zulu throw-in was initially given, only to be ruled out after severe protests and a threatened walkout by Makeni All Stars. The prolonged standoff halted play for several minutes, but Kalampa fought back like true warriors deep into an extended first-half stoppage time.
Defender Michael Chapota broke the resistance in the eighth minute of additional time to level it, before Kambole sent the stadium into absolute meltdown in six minutes later to give Nkana a 2-1 lead at the break.
The dominance continued after the interval as the hosts completely controlled the tempo. Kambole put on a masterclass to secure his brace in the 79th minute, followed closely by a brilliant 82nd-minute strike from substitute Nduna Zulu to put the game completely out of reach.
This dominant display is Nkana’s second consecutive victory of the transitional season, perfectly backing up their hard-fought 1-0 opening-day win away to Trident FC. Kalampa will now look to carry this perfect momentum into the midweek as they travel to face Napsa Stars next Wednesday.
