Songs of Praise and BBC Radio 2 have joined forces to showcase the country’s best young vocal talents, and five fantastic singers aged 15 to 17 have chosen a sacred song to impress this year’s judges, David Grant, Laura Wright and Cameron Richardson.

Music choices include Pie Jesu from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Requiem, Rejoice Greatly from Handel’s Messiah, Caccini’s Ave Maria, the hymn I Cannot Tell and For All the Saints Who’ve Shown Your Love by contemporary composer John Bell.

The singers come together to perform Morning Has Broken, arranged by composer Helen Leach.

After all the choristers have sung, the judges will select three singers to progress to the final.

Aled Jones and Kate Bottley countdown the nation’s favourite school assembly hymns.
