Victims identified in East Lubbock shooting, no arrests
LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit has identified two victims of a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning, October 11, according to a press release from the Lubbock Police Department.
EverythingLubbock.com previously reported that officers responded to reports of shots fired at 2:37 a.m. on Sunday. While investigating the initial call, officers heard gunshots nearby and responded to the area, where they found Delton Lewis, 28, inside a vehicle that had collided with a parked vehicle. According to police officials, Lewis had suffered apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation, 18-year-old Yundi Inthisan-Johnson arrived at University Medical Center with gunshot wounds believed to be connected to the shooting, according to police reports. Inthisan-Johnson sustained moderate injuries.
Police officials said that through the initial investigation, detectives believe that Lewis and Inthisan-Johnson were arriving in the area of 26th Street and Ivory Avenue when an individual approached their vehicle and fired multiple shots, striking both occupants.
