Vice President Bids Farewell to Zimbabwean Envoy
Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has received the outgoing Zimbabwean Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Kufa E. Chinoza, following the completion of six years of diplomatic service in the country.
The meeting served as a farewell engagement between the Vice President and the departing envoy, whose tenure has spanned several years of bilateral cooperation between Ghana and Zimbabwe.
During their discussions, the two focused on strengthening the ties between their respective nations. The Vice President took the opportunity to commend Zimbabwe for its support of Ghana’s push at the United Nations to have the transatlantic slave trade recognised as the gravest crime against humanity.
The recognition of that historic injustice has been a key diplomatic objective for Ghana on the international stage, and Zimbabwe’s backing was highlighted as a significant gesture of solidarity between the two African nations.
The engagement underscores the continued commitment of both countries to deepening their bilateral relations and cooperating on matters of mutual interest, particularly those concerning Africa’s historical justice and collective development.
Ambassador Chinoza’s departure marks the end of a six-year diplomatic mission in Ghana, during which he is expected to have contributed to the strengthening of relations across various sectors.
The Vice President’s commendation reflects Ghana’s appreciation for Zimbabwe’s support in championing the recognition of the transatlantic slave trade’s severity at the global level.
