The vivo X Fold6 powers advanced productivity features with India’s biggest battery in a foldable

The vivo X Fold6 is a productivity powerhouse with its large 8.02” main display, advanced multitasking, cross-platform features – plus India’s biggest battery in the foldable category, so that users can get an uncompromised smartphone experience.
It has a 6,900mAh battery capacity and uses 5th gen Silicon Anode Technology for increased energy density and improved cycle life. This ensures good battery endurance when you get the phone and also after years of using it. vivo’s Semi-Solid Electrolyte 2.0 design allows the battery to run at temperatures below freezing – down to -20°C and even -30°C – so you can take it on your next ski trip without worries.
The X Fold6 supports 80W FlashCharge and 40W Wireless FlashCharge. The Predictive Charging Time feature shows an estimated time remaining to hit 80% state of charge on the lock screen – the Battery settings screen shows that plus a prediction for the time remaining for a full charge.
Normally, a bigger screen means a bigger battery, so heavy multitaskers naturally gravitate towards bigger phones. The geometry of foldable phones complicates this – for one, they have a larger screen than similarly sized slab phones, but also the internals are more tightly packed. Battery technology needed time to catch up to the expectations of a large-screened flagship, but it’s finally here.
Speaking of the large screen, the vivo X Fold6 brings an 8.02” LTPO 8T panel with 2,504 x 2,312px resolution (424ppi). It has an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz. Its brightness can go all the way up to 5,000 nits (peak local brightness) and all the way down to 1 nit.
To make the most use of the large working area, Origin OS 7 brings an improved Origin Workbench that allows you to run up to 5 apps on the screen simultaneously – four apps split the screen horizontally and vertically and you can add a fifth app in a floating window.
Information tends to bounce between document editors, email, chat apps and various other software – completing a single task can easily require multiple app switches. Split screen simplifies things by reducing the need to switch between apps, copy and paste information manually or interrupt ongoing tasks.
And you don’t always get information in a convenient form. The Snap and Go feature on the Origin Island allows you to, say, scan a plane ticket and add it to your calendar. The similar Snap Note feature can take a photo of a whiteboard, handwritten notes, slides or a mind map and use AI to turn the recognized text and structure into an editable note. It can even stitch multiple shots in order. If you travel or work with teams across borders, the phone can translate between different languages. All these feature allow you to complete tasks on the go, saving you time throughout your day.
The latest Origin OS brings a number of AI-powered features. Smart Call Assistant answers calls when you’re away, with Call Screener and Call Summary for quick callbacks. AI Recorder turns recordings into searchable transcripts and summaries. AI Search is a natural-language search across File Manager and Notes.
The revamped UI can make your wallpapers feel alive with interactive bounce and realistic light effects that move naturally with your phone.
The vivo X Fold6 is a cross-platform device that lets you work across multiple devices both at home and at the office. The Cross-Ecosystem Connectivity feature allows the phone to connect to MacBooks, iPads, AirPods and Apple Watches as easily as it can to Windows machines and Android devices. While you can pick your own headphones and watch, connecting your phone to your office-supplied computer may be a hurdle – the cross-platform features of Origin OS make this a non-issue. Similarly, you can easily AirDrop a file to someone’s iPhone. It’s great to see features removing hurdles in sharing in various ecosystems – the days of Android users and iPhone users moving in separate cliques are over.
If you like to travel light, the vivo X Fold6 can replace a laptop with Desktop Mode – you just need to connect it to an external display like a PC monitor or a TV. This can be done over USB-C or wirelessly. In this mode, you can run multiple apps with overlapping, stackable and freely resizable windows.
The ability to open files from remote computers means that you don’t run the risk of forgetting an important document. The Camera Sharing feature of Office Kit can turn the X Fold6 into a webcam that you can connect to your computer over USB.
The chipset is the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition – it’s a joint development between MediaTek and vivo that offers fast, stable and power-efficient multitasking. Compared to previous-generation Origin Workbench, power efficiency in multitasking scenarios has improved by over 10%. The Ultra-Efficient Concurrent Engine enables GPU offloading and direct display rendering.
Portrait photography is one of the most popular photo genres and the vivo X Fold6 comes equipped for multi-focal HD portrait shots – you can shoot 23, 35, 50, 85 and 100mm. The shorter focal lengths engage the 200MP 1/1.4” HPB sensor (which was jointly developed by vivo and Samsung) to deliver industry-leading detail with 50MP photos even at 2x zoom. This camera has an f/1.68 lens with ZEISS T* Coating and professional-grade CIPA 4.5 Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), making it perfect for impromptu handheld shots. Stabilization is key for video too and there is a fun in-between mode – Motion Portrait 2.0. With zero shutter lag you can capture the right moment. The motion capture allows you to relive the moment even years later.
The vivo X Fold6 allows you to zoom in on faraway subjects using the ZEISS APO telephoto camera with the 50MP Sony LYT-602 sensor (1/1.95”) that sits behind an f/2.57 3x (70mm) periscope telephoto lens (ZEISS T* Coating, CIPA 4.5 OIS). Or you can capture more of the scene using the ZEISS Ultra Wide module (50MP Samsung JN1 1/2.76” sensor, f/2.05 lens with ZEISS T* Coating).
Telephoto images are processed by Advanced LLM technology that reduces AI-like artifacts and other visual distortions. On the creative side of things, the vivo Color Palette feature lets you set the mood for each photo with an intuitive color picker or by diving into the advanced settings. The cameras can record 4K at 60fps Dolby Video with improved clarity and enhanced noise reduction thanks to the vivo Imaging Chip V3+. Just like with photos, you can use the film style presets to make your videos feel more exciting or dramatic.
vivo designed the X Fold6 with comfort in mind – the rounded corners and the 2.5D flat-edge metal frame enhance the in-hand feel. The camera ring is a trademark design feature for vivo and it is color-matched to the body for a unified look.
The phone is available in Nebula Teal and Prism Black. The former has a subtle gradient that was inspired by the sky and sea at daybreak. The latter has a matte black finish with densely packed vertical ridges that were inspired by the facets of a prism.
The vivo X Fold6 is a no-compromise fold that was built around the flagship fundamentals: big battery, smooth performance, premium design and flagship imaging. The large, long-endurance battery is at the heart of this generation of foldable vivo flagship – it turns the large 8.02″ display and powerful Dimensity 9500 Super chipset into productivity tools that you can rely on all day instead of something that you can only use sparingly.
There is a balancing act between battery size and pocketability. However, advancements in battery tech allowed vivo to offer the best of both worlds – despite having the largest battery of any foldable in India at 6,900mAh, the X Fold6 measures only 9.4mm thick when closed and weighs 228g. This lightweight design makes the phone as portable as traditional slab designs while maintaining the inherent power of the foldable form factor.
The vivo X Fold6 will be available in India starting on October 13. You will find it on vivo.com and at partner retailers. It comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage for ₹219,999.
