The fomer governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi has taken to his official X account on Sunday, October 11, 2026 to react after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu introduced a discount on fuel price.
This came after the Federal Government announced a reduction on the price of fuel dispensed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC.
In the post that Peter Obi shared on his official X account, he said NNPC has about 900 stations across the country. He said Nigeria has a population of about 243 million people which means that one NNPC station will attend to 243,000 people. Peter Obi said Tinubu is not leading the country in the right way.
According to Peter Obi on his official X account;
“According to the Federal Government, the discount will be obtainable at NNPC retail petrol stations, which are estimated to be about 900 stations. Using our population of about 243 million people implies one NNPC retail petrol station to about 243,000 Nigerians”.
