Party Vigilantism Concerns: Throwback Footage Of Kojo Bamba Confrontation Emerges

Archival video footage showing a heated physical altercation involving newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) 1st Vice Chairman Kwadwo Fosu Boadu, popular as Kojo Bamba, has resurfaced online, sparking public discussions regarding political party vigilantism. According to video reports published by GhanaWeb on Sunday, October 11, 2026, the throwback footage depicts a confrontation between Bamba and Seidu MBA, a figure linked to security operations at the Manhyia Palace.

The resurfaced footage captures Seidu confronting Bamba in Kumasi over alleged derogatory comments made at the Asantehene’s palace. During the exchange, Seidu can be heard shouting at Bamba before shoving an associate accompanying him. Police officers and bystanders present at the scene intervened swiftly to separate the individuals and restore order before the confrontation escalation into further violence.  The video’s re-emergence follows Bamba’s election to the NPP’s national executive committee during the party’s delegates conference in Kumasi.

While party supporters view his grassroots background—previously associated with groups such as the Bamba Boys and Delta Forces—as a asset for protecting party interests during national elections, critics and political analysts have expressed concern that his election could reignite debates over political vigilantism.  Security experts and governance commentators note that public scrutiny surrounding political executives remains high as Ghanaian political organizations consolidate internal structures and prepare campaign strategies ahead of national elections.
