Pakistan foils terror bid, seizes arms smuggled from Afghanistan
FC Balochistan and security forces have foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons and ammunition from Afghanistan during a joint operation under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to security sources, forces raided a warehouse in Saranan, an area of Pishin district, and seized a vehicle loaded with weapons and ammunition.
The recovered items included three rocket-propelled grenade launchers, four light machine guns, a machine gun, hand grenades, rockets and a large quantity of ammunition, the sources said.
Security forces said the intelligence-based operation had disrupted a plan to transport ammunition from Afghanistan into the area.
A search operation was continuing after the raid to check for the possible presence of militant elements nearby.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to maintaining peace and stability in Balochistan and eliminating terrorism, according to the statement.
