Your Excellency,As Uganda commemorates 64 years of independence, I wish to reflect upon two important occasions at which you recently addressed the nation: the Tooro coronation on 29 September and Uganda’s Independence Day celebrations on 9 October 2026.Although these occasions were different, they raise a common question about the relationship between authority, institutions, and the people they serve.
