Drake Maye threw four touchdown passes and ran for another score as the New England Patriots rolled past the Las Vegas Raiders 45-17 on Sunday.

Maye completed 26 of 34 passes for 374 yards in the second 300-yard game of his career. Two touchdowns went to Pop Douglas and one each to Hunter Henry and Kyle Williams. Rhamondre Stevenson added a touchdown run.

Maye became the first New England quarterback to throw at least three touchdown passes in consecutive games since Tom Brady in 2018. It was also his first turnover-free game of the season. He scored on a three-yard run.

The Patriots (3-2) finished with a season-high 536 yards and forced a fumble despite playing without injured receiver Mack Hollins and cornerbacks Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis III.

Kirk Cousins completed 19 of 28 passes for 243 yards, including a touchdown to Brock Bowers that briefly pulled the Raiders (3-2) level. But Las Vegas did not reach the end zone again until the fourth quarter after scoring at least 26 points in each of their first four games.

Braelon Allen ran 22 yards for the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter after New York recovered a fumbled punt snap, and the Jets ended a three-game skid with a 17-12 victory over the Cleveland Browns on a rain-soaked Sunday.

Rookie David Bailey had three of New York’s eight sacks of Deshaun Watson, and Geno Smith threw a touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson on the Jets’ opening drive, helping snap the Browns’ three-game winning streak.

Read moreThe Browns had a final chance when they got the ball with 1:41 left and no timeouts. But New York’s defense, as they had all game, stiffened and sealed the victory when Will McDonald strip-sacked Watson on fourth down and recovered the fumble.

Smith completed 17 of 30 passes for 182 yards and the touchdown to Wilson, who had seven catches for 104 yards. Allen ran for 116 yards and the winning touchdown on 24 carries.

It wasn’t pretty, with steady rain falling throughout the game as the remnants of Hurricane Isaias blew through the north-east. But the struggling Jets (2-3) were able to bounce back after surrendering a fourth-quarter lead.

Jaylen Warren piled up 188 total yards and two long touchdowns – one rushing and one receiving – to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers past the Indianapolis Colts 34-22 on Sunday.

The Steelers (3-2) shook off a loss at Cleveland by relying on Warren and a defense that frequently bent but rarely broke.

Warren caught six passes for 87 yards, including an 80-yard catch-and-run touchdown in the first quarter, and added 101 yards on the ground, highlighted by a 50-yard sprint to the end zone in the third quarter. The typically low-key former undrafted free agent celebrated by hurdling across the goal line.

Aaron Rodgers completed 22 of 31 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns. While Warren did most of the work on their 80-yard connection, the 42-year-old Rodgers absorbed a crushing hit from 314lb Colts defensive tackle Grover Stewart as he released the ball.

Pat Freiermuth caught five passes for 44 yards and two touchdowns for Pittsburgh, the second a 17-yard pass from Rodgers with 6:40 remaining that gave the Steelers enough breathing room to beat the Colts for the 10th time in 12 meetings.

CJ Stroud threw for 261 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score as the Houston Texans snapped their winless start to the season by routing the Tennessee Titans 26-3 on Sunday.

It was the second straight season Houston (1-4) ended an opening winless skid by beating Tennessee. This time, the Texans forced two turnovers and Will Anderson Jr had three of Houston’s four sacks. Ka’imi Fairbairn kicked four field goals as the Texans took a 12-3 halftime lead.

Houston dominated the second and third quarters, outgaining the Titans 225-49 and outscoring them 16-0. The Texans held Tennessee to a season-low 187 total yards.

The Titans (0-5) have now lost 11 straight games in the AFC South and six straight overall dating back to the end of last season.

Tennessee led only after opening the game with a drive that ended in a 30-yard field goal by Joey Slye. Cam Ward finished with 170 passing yards.

The Texans then forced a three-and-out before safety Jalen Pitre recovered a Tyjae Spears fumble on Tennessee’s next possession. Jake Hansen intercepted Ward on the ensuing drive, and Houston followed by forcing another three-and-out.

Justin Jefferson marked his return to Minnesota’s lineup with a leaping touchdown catch, Aaron Jones made up for an early fumble with a pivotal fourth-quarter score and the Vikings remained unbeaten with a 23-13 victory over the slumping New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Will Reichard made all three of his field-goal attempts from 40 yards or more for the Vikings (5-0), including a 55-yarder that put Minnesota ahead by 10 in the fourth quarter and all but condemned the Saints (1-4) to a third straight loss, all at the Superdome.

Jones finished with 113 rushing yards on 25 carries. Jefferson, who sat out Week 4 with an ankle injury, caught six passes for 79 yards from Kyler Murray, who threw for 229 yards and a touchdown without a turnover and rushed for 51 yards.

The Vikings, who entered the game allowing an NFL-low 12.8 points per game, surrendered only one offensive touchdown and held New Orleans to 142 yards.

Safety Jonas Sanker returned a fumble 87 yards for the Saints’ other touchdown.

Joe Burrow threw four touchdown passes, safety Jordan Battle had two interceptions and the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Miami Dolphins 31-24 on Sunday.

Ja’Marr Chase, who had been questionable after suffering a concussion last week against Jacksonville, caught six passes for 77 yards, including a spectacular one-handed, 45-yard touchdown catch that made it 28-10.

Burrow completed 23 of 32 passes for 190 yards and also threw touchdowns to tight ends Mike Gesicki and Tanner Hudson and running back Samaje Perine. The Bengals quarterback exploited the Dolphins’ young secondary, completing passes to nine different receivers.

Battle intercepted Malik Willis on consecutive drives in the second quarter. The safety had said earlier in the week that he had spotted a tell in Willis’s throwing motion, pointing out that the Dolphins quarterback appeared to tap the ball before releasing it.

The Dolphins (0-5) pulled within seven points with 45 seconds remaining on Willis’s one-yard touchdown run, set up by a 23-yard catch by rookie Kevin Coleman Jr, who had also caught a touchdown earlier in the fourth quarter. Riley Patterson struck the left upright with the extra-point attempt, and the ensuing onside kick went out of bounds as Cincinnati snapped their two-game skid.

Christian Watson caught two long touchdown passes from Jordan Love, MarShawn Lloyd also scored twice and the Green Bay Packers exacted a measure of revenge against the Chicago Bears with a 31-7 rout on Sunday.

Love completed 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards, the most by a Packers quarterback against the Bears at Lambeau Field. He connected with Watson on a 42-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a 53-yarder in the third.

Green Bay had lost three of their previous four meetings with Chicago and squandered a 21-3 halftime lead in a 31-27 NFC wild-card playoff defeat last season. Caleb Williams celebrated that comeback victory by grating cheese on the field, mocking Green Bay’s Cheesehead fanbase.

Williams missed a third straight game on Sunday with a hamstring injury, leaving Tyson Bagent to start in his place. Xavier McKinney intercepted two of Bagent’s passes as the Packers forced five turnovers.
