Liverpool vs Man City Confirmed Lineups as Haaland and Wirtz Lead Starting Xls

According to the report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 11, 2026, Liverpool and Manchester City have named their starting lineups for the much-anticipated Premier league game set to start at 16:30 BST.

Alisson is the first choice goalkeeper for Liverpool, while Araujo, Van Dijk, Jacquet, and Milos Kerkez are the defenders. Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch are in midfield with Koumas, Munoz, and Florian Wirtz providing support to Barcola.

Liverpool will most likely use a 4-2-3-1 formation with Mac Allister and Gravenberch in the center, linking the midfield and defense. Wirtz will most likely be in a more advanced midfield position using his playmaking abilities, linking play, and creating chances.

Koumas and Munoz will provide width and counterattacking threat, and Barcola will lead the line in an isolated position. He has the pace and power to run past defenders, stretching City’s defense.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is the first-choice goalkeeper for Manchester City, with Matheus Nunes, Dias, Guehi, and O’Reilly in defense. The midfield trio consists of Nico Fernandez and Anderson, with Semenyo, Cherki, and Ndiaye providing support to Haaland.

Manchester City will most likely use a 4-2-3-1 formation with Fernandez and Anderson in midfield, providing protection to the backline and allowing Haaland to lead the line.

Semenyo and Ndiaye will provide width, stretching the defense and creating chances for Cherki who will be in an advanced attacking role.

Both teams have selected strong attacking lineups for the highly anticipated clash, which will be crucial to both sides. Liverpool will try to utilize the playmaking qualities of Wirtz and his ability to create chances for Koumas and Barcola.

However, City’s attacking qualities and the threat of Haaland in the box will provide a serious challenge to Liverpool’s defense, especially since they are playing at home.

While the chosen formation gives a glimpse into the coach’s philosophy, it is possible that both sides will change their formations during the game.
