LIV Vs MCI: Man City’s Confirmed Starting Lineup Against Liverpool
Manchester City have officially unveiled their starting eleven for today’s Premier League showdown against Liverpool at Anfield, with Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo both included in the lineup after recovering from fitness concerns. This was reported by the London Evening Standard on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
Manager Enzo Maresca has also handed Nico O’Reilly a starting role in defence as City prepare to face one of their major title rivals in a crucial league fixture.
Haaland will spearhead the attack after overcoming the discomfort he suffered while on international duty with Norway. His condition had raised concerns after he was seen limping and signalling that he needed to be substituted during the international break.
Nevertheless, Maresca has confirmed that the striker has recovered enough to participate in the Liverpool encounter. The Norwegian international was allowed time to rest before resuming training in preparation for the trip to Anfield.
Semenyo has also been handed a starting position after leaving Ghana’s squad ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches because of an injury concern. The winger has since trained with the team and is regarded as fit enough to play against Liverpool.
Iliman Ndiaye will join the two forwards in attack, while Rayan Cherki has retained his place in the attacking midfield position. Cherki is expected to operate behind the attacking players, with Elliot Anderson and Enzo Fernandez providing support from central midfield.
O’Reilly’s inclusion is another positive development for Maresca, particularly after the defender withdrew from the England squad during the international break because of concerns about his fitness. His return to the starting eleven strengthens City’s options ahead of the challenging away fixture.
Gianluigi Donnarumma has been selected as the starting goalkeeper, with Matheus Nunes, Ruben Dias, Marc Guehi and O’Reilly forming the defensive unit. The defenders will need to be at their best to contain Liverpool’s dangerous attacking players.
Phil Foden, however, will miss the match as he serves the final game of his three-match suspension, which followed his dismissal in last month’s Manchester derby. Jeremy Doku has been named among the substitutes after recently recovering his fitness.
Maresca will be counting on his players to deliver a convincing display at Anfield and help Manchester City claim a crucial result in their Premier League campaign.
Manchester City Confirmed Starting Lineup:
Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Guehi, O’Reilly; Anderson, Fernandez; Ndiaye, Cherki, Semenyo; Haaland.
Substitutes: Rulli, Kovacic, Doku, Reis, Gvardiol, Bouaddi, Allan, Khusanov, Lewis.
