Swedru All Blacks assistant coach Joseph Agyemang has praised the players after their narrow victory over Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.

In the tough Week Six fixture at Wenchi Stadium, a stoppage-time penalty converted by Eric Wiafe Darkwah secured all three points for All Blacks, leaving the Porcupine Warriors disappointed as they returned to Kumasi.

In a post-match interview, Joe Agyemang described the result as significant, stressing that it will boost the team’s morale heading into upcoming fixtures.

“I can say that this win is very important for us. This win will boost our confidence for the next game. In the absence of our head coach, we worked hard to win this game for him, so we wish him a speedy recovery.

“We thank the supporters for what they have done for us. They cheered us throughout the game. And for the players, I congratulate them for the win,” the All Blacks assistant coach said.

Following the win against Asante Kotoko, Swedru All Blacks have moved to eighth position in the Ghana Premier League standings, level on points with Asante Kotoko [8] but ahead on goal difference.

In the next round of league matches, Swedru All Blacks will face Karela United, while Asante Kotoko host Young Apostles.
