Haryana Opens First Tourist Police Post at Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula

Haryana Police on Sunday established the state’s first Tourist Police Post at Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula to strengthen security, improve assistance for devotees and promote religious tourism.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the facility, which is equipped with a surveillance system, specially trained police personnel and facilities designed to meet the needs of devotees. Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal and Panchkula Police Commissioner Pankaj Nain welcomed the Chief Minister.

The Tourist Police Post aims to provide security, guidance, grievance redressal and other necessary assistance within the temple premises. It is intended to help devotees visiting from different states and linguistic backgrounds resolve minor issues without having to approach multiple offices or police stations.

During the inauguration, Saini received a briefing from police officers on the post’s functioning, available facilities and security arrangements.

Emphasising the importance of the initiative, the Chief Minister said a large number of devotees from across the country visit Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple to offer prayers. He said it was essential to understand their languages, needs and circumstances and provide timely assistance.

Saini said the Tourist Police Post would serve as an effective mechanism for ensuring a safer, smoother and more convenient experience for devotees.

Twenty specially trained police personnel have been deployed at the post around the clock. They have been provided with distinctive uniforms, different from those worn by regular police personnel, so that devotees can easily identify them when they need help.

The personnel have also received specialised training in courteous behaviour, effective communication, soft skills and understanding the requirements of devotees arriving from different states.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening trust between the police and devotees while ensuring that assistance is readily available to those facing difficulties within the temple complex.
