'Airport staff tackle terminal fire'

Coalition spokesman Major General Turki Al-Maliki said an “unknown projectile” hit Passenger Hall 4 at the airport, starting a fire. Authorities are dealing with the situation.

In a separate statement, Al-Maliki said air defence systems had intercepted and neutralised a cruise missile near the airport.

The latest attacks follow a Houthi assault on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh the previous day, which reportedly killed 12 people and injured more than 300.

According to Saudi Civil Defence, the dead included four Saudi nationals and two Bangladeshi nationals. One citizen each from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan was also killed in the attack.
