Figures show that more people use an air fryer than an over with the device now the third most popular in the kitchenAir fryers have fast become a kitchen appliance staple in homes across the UK. They were first invented by Dutch engineer Fred van der Weij’s in 2006 with his prototype which used “rapid air technology” to make crispy food with almost no oil but have since become a modern essential with more than two thirds of households owning one.
