Fameye Doesn’t Follow Anyone On TikTok,Yet You Expect People To Follow You Or Attend Your Show—Bongo

Ghanaian social commentator Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has criticised some Ghanaian musicians for what he describes as excessive pride and celebrity behaviour, arguing that such attitudes could be contributing to their struggles to build strong fan bases.

In a Facebook post, Bongo Ideas questioned why some artistes appear reluctant to interact with their followers on social media despite depending on fans for streams, concert attendance and support for their music.

He cited Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy as examples of established musicians who, in his view, continue to engage with their supporters despite their status as some of Ghana’s biggest music stars.

According to him, emerging and relatively established artistes should learn from these musicians instead of behaving as though their celebrity status places them above their fans.

The commentator described the attitude of some younger performers as unnecessary, suggesting that certain artistes were displaying an exaggerated sense of importance despite not having achieved comparable success in the Ghanaian music industry.

Bongo Ideas specifically mentioned Fameye, questioning the singer’s decision not to follow anyone on TikTok. He argued that artistes who expect people to follow their accounts, stream their songs and attend their shows should also make efforts to build relationships with their audiences.

He also criticised Gyakie, expressing doubts about the extent of her catalogue of widely recognised hits. His comments suggested that artistes should remain conscious of their public appeal and the need to maintain meaningful connections with listeners.
