Erling Haaland considers time at Man City ‘over’ as he decides transfer

According to a report by Football365 on Sunday October 11, 2026, Erling Haaland has decided to leave Manchester City, with Barcelona emerging as a potential destination for the Norwegian striker amid uncertainty surrounding the club’s financial case.

According to reports cited by Football365, Haaland is considering ending his time at the Etihad Stadium, with the recent developments surrounding Manchester City’s financial-rule case potentially influencing his decision.

City have appealed the reported verdict and continue to deny wrongdoing, but speculation about possible sanctions has raised questions about the futures of some of their biggest stars.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Haaland and believe he could strengthen their attack under manager Hansi Flick. The Spanish giants could offer him the opportunity to compete in La Liga alongside talented forwards Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

Arsenal have also been linked with the 26-year-old, with reports suggesting that the Gunners could be among the clubs monitoring his situation.

Haaland’s ambition to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record could also influence his next move. The striker has reportedly scored 117 league goals and remains some distance behind Shearer’s record of 260.

However, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has urged caution over claims that Haaland is preparing to leave Manchester City.

Romano insists that the striker remains focused on City and has publicly expressed his commitment to the club and its supporters during a difficult period.

Although Barcelona and Real Madrid have long been linked with Haaland, no agreement over a transfer has been confirmed.

For now, Haaland’s future remains uncertain, with speculation likely to continue as developments surrounding Manchester City’s financial case unfold.
