ECG announces planned power outages from October 14 to 16
According to report by Adomonline on Sunday 11, October 2026, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a three-day planned maintenance exercise in parts of the Accra West Region, which will result in temporary power outages from Wednesday, October 14, to Friday, October 16, 2026.
In a notice issued on Sunday, October 11, 2026, the power distributor said the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to improve electricity service delivery and enhance the reliability of power supply to customers.
According to ECG, the planned maintenance works will be carried out between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on each of the three scheduled days, affecting several communities across the region.
On Wednesday, October 14, the outage will affect Tabora Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6, Bankyease, Race Course, Alhaji, Kwashiebu, Gbawe Bulemin, Gonse, Joma, Agbozome and CP, as well as surrounding communities.
The maintenance exercise will continue on Thursday, October 15, with power interruptions expected in Mallam Junction, the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Hospital area, South McCarthy, Sampa Valley, Kokrobite, Oshiyie, Old Bortianor, Old Aplaku, Abease, Achiama, Obeyeyie and Ayikai Doblo, including nearby communities.
On the final day, Friday, October 16, the planned works will affect Kotoku, Papase, Chinto, Doblo and Medie, alongside surrounding areas.
ECG has apologised to customers in the affected communities for the inconvenience the temporary power interruptions may cause, particularly to households, businesses and institutions that depend on a consistent electricity supply.
The companyβs maintenance exercise is aimed at improving service delivery and supporting a more reliable electricity distribution network.
Customers in the affected areas are encouraged to take note of the announced schedule and make the necessary arrangements ahead of the planned outages to minimise disruptions to their daily activities.
The exercise is expected to conclude on Friday, October 16, after which the affected communities can anticipate the restoration of normal electricity supply, subject to the completion of the scheduled works.
