Cole Palmer compares Chelsea teammate Jordan Henderson to Ronaldo Nazario in post after 5-1 win

According to a report by Football London on Sunday, October 11, 2026, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has joked about teammate Jordan Henderson on social media following the midfielder’s outstanding performance in the Blues’ 5-1 victory over Bournemouth.

Henderson scored twice and provided an assist as Chelsea delivered an impressive display at Stamford Bridge. His performance prompted Palmer to share a humorous Instagram edit comparing the veteran midfielder to Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazario.

Palmer placed Henderson’s face on an image of Ronaldo during the 2002 FIFA World Cup, when the Brazilian striker helped his country win the tournament. Henderson appeared to take the joke in good spirits, responding to the post with several laughing emojis.

The light-hearted exchange came after an impressive display from the 36-year-old midfielder, who made his home debut for Chelsea after missing the opening month of the season through injury.

Henderson made an immediate impact, opening the scoring within the first two minutes after receiving a pass from Palmer. He then played a role in Chelsea’s second goal before completing his brace with a direct free-kick in the 70th minute.

Playing alongside Moises Caicedo in midfield, the experienced England international was influential throughout Chelsea’s dominant performance. His display highlighted his ability to contribute in different areas of the pitch.

Palmer also enjoyed a productive afternoon, providing the assist for Henderson’s opening goal during his first appearance following a reported contract extension that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2034.

The exchange on social media provided a humorous moment following Chelsea’s emphatic victory and highlighted the positive relationship between the two teammates.

With Henderson making an immediate impression after returning from injury, Chelsea will hope the experienced midfielder can maintain his form and continue contributing to the team’s success as the Premier League season progresses.
