CCTV emerges of teens allegedly stealing alcohol during wild rampage

The terrified owner of a suburban bottle shop fears that her store will be targeted again after a group of teens allegedly stole $1,000 worth of alcohol.

Confronting CCTV footage shared by The Bottle-O Narellan Vale, in Sydney’s south-west, showed five teenagers entering the store shortly after 6pm on Saturday.

One teen, 13, has since been charged, while four others remain on the run.

The CCTV showed the group entering the store attempting to hide their faces with their shirts and hoodies.

Several monitored the door as the others grabbed as much alcohol as they could.

Smashed glass bottles and other items were seen strewn across the floor.

Storeowner Guo Wu, 49, repeatedly tried to stop the group, while her son Santiago, 20, was allegedly punched in the left eye when he attempted to grab one of the teens.

Ms Wu, who suffered minor injuries after she was allegedly shoved during the confrontation, said she and her son are now fearful of youths coming into the store.

‘They (allegedly) stole things and then attacked people as well. It’s frightening.

‘Now if someone makes a sudden movement, we get nervous and wonder what they’re about to do. We’re always on edge.’

An estimated $1,000 worth of alcohol was allegedly stolen.

Passers-by alerted by Ms Wu’s screams managed to detain one of the teens until police arrived.

The 13-year-old has since been charged with larceny.

He was also charged with a second count of larceny in relation to another alleged theft at a business in nearby Mount Annan earlier this year.

The teen was bailed to appear in a children’s court on November 2.

Police are still searching for the other teens involved in the alleged rampage.
